Please give 24 hours notice. The appointment can then be offered to others. Without that minimum notice, regrettably you will be liable for the full fee.
The osteopathic approach
Our approach to the treatment of pain and disability is unique. We take a holistic view of the patients health and contributory factors to the pain and/or disability they may be experiencing. This makes a sustainable resolution of symptoms much more likely.
For example. A patient is experiencing back pain. Treating just the back may be insufficient to eliminate that pain. We will also consider postural, ergonomic, biomechanical and social contributors to the problem and work with the patient to address all those that play a part in their condition.
What you can expect
An Initial Consultation
This will last up to an hour, during which time a thorough history of your problem and general health will be taken. You will also receive a physical assessment and any clinical tests that are felt to be appropriate will be conducted at this stage.
You will be provided with a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
Subject to your agreement, treatment will then begin.
Subsequent Treatments
Any subsequent sessions will last up to 45 minutes and will focus on measuring your progress, treating as required and providing guidance on exercise or any other appropriate rehabilitative activity.
We are keen to ensure you feel entirely comfortable during this consultation therefore we will explain the things we do and why we do them throughout the assessment and your consent to these activities will be sought.
